The Circuit Clerk is responsible for maintaining complete and accurate records of the court; collecting, accounting for and disbursing all monies paid into the court; and performing other duties as necessary, to assist the court in performing it’s duties.
Some of the duties of a court clerk are:
- Receive, process, and maintain the judgments, rules, orders and all other proceedings of the court.
- Issue process: summons, subpoenas, executions, garnishments, sequestrations, judgments, orders and commitments.
- Collect and disburse fines and costs.
- Collect and disburse other monies paid into court as ordered by the court.
- Preserve the court seal and other property of the office.
- Provide uniform case reporting.
- Enter all case records into state system for child support collection.
The Texas County Circuit Clerk’s Office is comprised of 7 different divisions:
- Civil
- Criminal
- Traffic
- Juvenile
- Probate
- Jury
- Accounting
The office is located in the Justice Center on the second floor. The office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The office honors state and federal holidays.
